Shelton Hendricks is 19 years old and currently the soccer coach and Educare afternoon assistant at Joshua     Project. He writes:

I started coming to the Joshua Project in 2002 and I was 12 years old. I came to the program which was called ‘Sonskyn-Club’. I was one of the kids and didn’t go to school for two months after we moved from a farm in Patensie. Soon the Joshua Project started sponsoring me to go to school and I started two months later then the other kids. I have been involved with the Joshua Project since then  and it was, and still is an awesome experience.”

In this way Shelton was able to finish school without falling behind too much.

In 2008 I went to a Bible School through J-Life ministries and the Project played a big role in sponsoring me as well and I came back a changed person. I was in    Johannesburg for four months and received training there and then went to KwaZulu Natal for seven months to work in a church there with the youth.”

Through all his adventures the Joshua Project stayed close to Shelton’s heart:

This year I decided to come back home and now I am a staff member at the Joshua Project working with the kids and doing sports with them.”
